Cover-ups
Transform existing tattoos into something you love — often produces the best work.

About Cover-ups
Cover-up tattooing is one of the most challenging and rewarding specialties. Taking an existing tattoo that you've outgrown, regret, or simply want transformed, and turning it into something you're proud of — that's the goal.
Kyla has extensive experience designing cover-ups that don't just hide the old tattoo but create something genuinely beautiful. The key is working with the existing design rather than fighting it — using the old lines and shapes as a foundation for something new.
Cover-ups often produce some of the best work because they require creative problem-solving. The constraints of the existing tattoo push the design in unexpected, often better directions than a blank canvas would.

Final result is a brand-new piece, not a patch job

Old tattoos that have faded or aged poorly
Names or text you want transformed
Tattoos that no longer represent you
Unfinished or poorly executed work
Small tattoos that can be incorporated into larger designs
Anyone ready for a fresh start
⏱ Session Info
Consultation is essential for cover-ups. Small cover-ups: 2–4 hours. Larger transformations: 4–8 hours across 2–3 sessions. Laser lightening adds 2–3 months to the timeline.
🩹 Healing Notes
Cover-up tattoos may require slightly more ink than a fresh piece, which means slightly longer healing time. Follow aftercare instructions carefully — the first two weeks are critical for the cover-up to set properly.
